Gutter cleaning cost in Surrey depends mainly on the size and height of the house, how many sides have gutters, and how blocked they are. There is no single fixed figure, so the quickest way to get an accurate answer is to send a few photos and receive a free quote, usually the same day.
Why there is no standard price
Anyone who quotes a flat gutter cleaning cost without knowing the property is guessing. A two-bed terrace with a single run of low gutter at the front and back is a very different job from a five-bedroom detached house with several roof levels, a garage and a conservatory. Even two identical houses can need different amounts of time if one sits under a big oak and the other does not.
A good quote reflects the real work involved, so be wary of prices that seem to ignore the size of your home entirely.
What affects the price
Size and layout of the property
The total length of guttering is the biggest factor. More sides, more roof levels, dormers, bay windows and extensions all add length and add setup time. A bungalow is usually quicker than a three-storey house, but a bungalow with a sprawling L-shape may take longer than you expect.
Height and access
Taller houses need longer poles or more careful ladder work. Narrow side passages, locked gates, conservatories, flat roofs and garages can all make access more involved. Gutters above conservatories and extensions, for example, are cleaned from the ground rather than from ladders resting on fragile roofs, which is safer but needs the right equipment.
How blocked the gutters are
Routine yearly maintenance is quicker than clearing gutters that have not been touched for years. Compacted sludge, plant growth, moss and nests all take longer to remove, and the outlets sometimes need to be cleared by hand.
Downpipes and extras
Downpipes can be cleared from ground level upwards. If you also want fascias, soffits or the gutters themselves brightened, or a roof treatment, that is additional work and is quoted accordingly. Note that blockages in below-ground drains are a separate matter and need a drainage specialist.
Quick reference: what pushes the price up or down
| Factor | Tends to reduce the price | Tends to increase the price |
|---|---|---|
| House size | Terrace, flat, small semi | Large detached, many roof levels |
| Height | Bungalow or low two-storey | Three storeys or steep sites |
| Condition | Cleaned within the last year | Several years of buildup |
| Trees | Few or none nearby | Overhanging oak, sycamore or conifers |
| Access | Clear paths and open gates | Tight alleys, locked gates, no socket |
| Extras | Gutters only | Fascias, soffits, downpipes, roof work |
How to get an accurate quote
You should not have to pay for a visit just to find out the price. Most of what we need to know can be seen from clear photos, and anything unusual we can confirm with a quick call.
The fastest way is by message. Send your address and a few photos of every guttered side of the house taken from the ground, and we can usually look at the layout, height and access straight away. That is typically enough to give a firm quote, and it avoids a wasted visit.
- Take photos of each side of the house that has gutters, standing back so the whole run shows.
- Mention any conservatories, extensions, garages or flat roofs.
- Tell us about nearby trees and when the gutters were last cleaned, if you know.
- Send the photos with your address by WhatsApp, SMS or email.
Is it cheaper to do it yourself?
Many people ask this when they first look at gutter cleaning cost, and it is a fair question.
It can look cheaper on paper, but the sums do not always add up once you count ladders, equipment, bags for disposal and your own time. More importantly, falls from ladders cause serious injuries every year. Work above a single storey is best left to professionals, and many gutters cannot be reached safely by ladder anyway. Our guide on whether it is safe to clean gutters yourself explains the risks in more detail.
A regular professional clean also tends to keep the job small. Neglect, on the other hand, can lead to repairs, damp and decorating, which cost far more than keeping up with maintenance. If you are unsure how often to book, see how often gutters should be cleaned.
How SuperClean Gutters can help
Our gutter cleaning service uses a commercial gutter vacuum on poles that reach up to 12 metres (about 40ft) from the ground, with a camera on the pole so you can watch the results and receive before and after photos. Where there is deep debris or a stubborn outlet, we use safe ladder access to clear it by hand. We work in Surrey from Guildford to Esher and Staines-upon-Thames, with the full list on our areas we cover page.
Quotes are free, with no obligation, and our team is fully insured, with the work backed by our service guarantee. You do not need to be home, provided we have safe access and an outside power socket. If you also have a mossy roof or tired fascias, ask about gutter, fascia and soffit cleaning in the same visit.

Frequently asked questions
How much is gutter cleaning for a 3-bed house?
It varies, because a three-bedroom house can be a small terrace or a large extended semi. Price depends on gutter length, height, access and how blocked the channels are. Send photos of each guttered side with your address and we will give you a free quote, usually the same day, with no obligation.
Is gutter cleaning worth the money?
For most homes, yes. Clean gutters protect the fascia, brickwork and walls from overflow, and prevent the kind of damp and rot that cause expensive repairs. Regular cleaning also keeps each visit quick and straightforward, rather than a big clear-out of years of buildup. It is basic home maintenance that pays for itself.
Does gutter cleaning cost more in winter?
Our quote is based on the property, not the season. Autumn and early winter are busy because that is when leaves block gutters, so booking early helps. Frozen conditions or severe weather can delay a visit for safety reasons, but we will rearrange rather than rush the job.
What does the quote include?
A standard visit covers clearing debris from the gutters and outlets, flushing downpipes from the ground where possible, and leaving the site tidy. Because the pole has a camera, you can see before and after photos. Extras such as fascia cleaning or roof work are quoted separately so you know exactly what you are paying for.
