Plenty of Shere homes have had their timber eaves replaced with uPVC over the years, and while the plastic never needs painting it does collect a film of grime. We quote each home based on what it needs. Eaves length, storey count, depth of staining and any add-on gutter clear all feed into the number. Extensions, porches and garages can be added in. Pictures of all four sides are enough for us to settle on a free, firm price, normally before the day is out.
Those are tiger stripes. They form when dirty water spills over the front of the gutter and leaves a greasy deposit that rain alone cannot shift. Our cleaning solution and brushes break the film down so the face returns to an even colour.
That side gets little sun, so it stays damp for longer, and in a sheltered valley like the Tillingbourne that is enough for algae to thrive. Trees nearby make it worse. We pay particular attention to those shaded elevations.
