From Victorian terraces off Bridge Road to the post-war semis of West Molesey, we empty KT8 gutters end to end with a ground-based vacuum, prove every downpipe runs and leave the pavement spotless.
Three rivers meet around Molesey, and that watery setting brings soft, humid air that moss and algae thrive in. Willow leaves, poplar fluff and plane-tree seed balls drift into gutters along with the usual oak and sycamore litter, and by midwinter many KT8 houses have outlets choked with a dark, peaty sludge. An annual booking for gutter cleaning in Molesey stops that spilling down your brickwork and soaking the ground beside the walls.
Our method relies on a commercial gutter vacuum fed up to the eaves on sectional poles stretching to roughly 12 metres. That covers everything from a two-up two-down terrace to a three-storey riverside townhouse without anyone propping a ladder on your plastic. If a section is set hard or the hopper on an old cast-iron downpipe is jammed, a ladder is footed safely and the stubborn part comes out by hand. Every downpipe is then checked from the bottom up, rubbish is bagged and taken away, and if you were not in, a message lands on your phone with photos of the emptied gutters.

East Molesey grew up around the bridge to Hampton Court and the railway terminus beside it, and its older streets are lined with Victorian and Edwardian terraces and villas. Those houses often have valley gutters hidden between roof slopes, rear outriggers with their own little gutters and hoppers, and sections of heavy cast iron that rust from the inside once water sits in them. In the Kent Town streets the houses are packed closely together, so the back gutters are reached through narrow alleys and gardens rather than from the road.
West Molesey is quite different. Much of it was built between the 1930s and 1970s, with council and private estates of semis and short terraces, plus newer homes on the old Hurst Park racecourse land by the river. Here the gutters are usually plastic, but many are now old enough to have gone brittle, and the low-pitched porch and garage roofs tacked on over the years collect a surprising amount of debris.
Then there is the setting. Molesey sits on the Thames flood plain, edged by the reservoirs, Molesey Heath and the river paths towards Molesey Lock, and the damp air off all that water keeps roofs mossy and gutters wet. Rows of willows and poplars along the banks shed fluff and leaves for much of the year. We clean gutters throughout the KT8 postcode, from the streets around Hampton Court station and Walton Road to the estates bordering Hersham and Walton.
Four stages, from your first photo to the last downpipe.
Send your KT8 address and pictures of each guttered side, including any rear outrigger or extension. We use them to work out the length and height involved, then text back a fixed figure.
We walk the property first, noting overflow stains, slipped sections or rusty cast-iron joints, and check how we will reach the back of terraced houses before setting up the vacuum.
Main runs, valleys we can safely reach, outrigger gutters and porch roofs are vacuumed out. Any hopper or outlet that resists the hose gets cleared by hand off a well-footed ladder.
Water is sent through each downpipe to confirm it reaches the gully, the pavement and garden are swept, and you are told the job is done, with photos if requested.

Gutters near the river tend to fill faster than you might think. These clues suggest yours need a clean:
Most Molesey homes are fine with one visit a year. If you are close to the riverbank trees or have big gardens behind you, two visits may be worth it.
Spotted one of these on a Kent Town terrace or a West Molesey semi? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly whether a visit is needed yet.
Terraces, semis and riverside townhouses differ hugely in gutter length and access, so there is no flat rate – each figure is worked out from your own photos and agreed before we arrive.
We quote each property on its own merits. These are what change it most:
Front-and-back snaps from your phone let us fix a price, usually within the day.
Usually, yes. Many East Molesey terraces have shared alleys or rear gardens backing onto a path, and our poles can reach over garden walls in many cases. Where the house is the only way through, tell us when you send photos and we will talk through the options, such as reaching it from a neighbouring garden with permission.
They do. Willow leaves are narrow and slip easily into outlets, and poplar fluff and seed knit into a felt that holds water. Homes close to the Thames, the Mole or the Ember often fill their gutters more quickly than houses a few streets back, so we may suggest a second clean in spring.
Yes. We vacuum cast-iron gutters gently and avoid leaning ladders against them. Cleaning also gives us a chance to spot rust holes or cracked joints, and we will tell you if we see sections that are close to failing so you can decide whether to repair or replace them.
A valley gutter runs between two roof slopes, often hidden from view at the middle of a Victorian terrace roof. Where it can be reached safely with our poles or a ladder, we clear it as part of the clean. If it is only reachable by walking on the roof, we will explain the options.
Certainly, provided all sides are reachable and there is an outdoor plug for our vacuum. Terraced homes without outside power or rear access may need you, or a neighbour, around at the start. We will message you once everything is finished.
We clear downpipes from the ground upwards. If water is backing up from the gully or the underground drain, that is a separate job needing drainage equipment, and we will explain what we found so a drainage specialist knows what to expect.
